Job Description
- Assess and examined ER patients effectively and competently.
- Refers ER patients to appropriate medical practitioners.
- Collaborates with other medical practitioners, nurses and other staff disciplines in the management and care of ER patients.
- Immediately responds to hospital codes e.g. Code Blue etc.
- Assists residents in managing ER patients when necessary.
- Reviews documentation of Medico-Legal cases accomplished by residents on duty.
- Participates and attends CME activities, medical staff, and departmental meetings.
- Implements and adheres to ER Department, Hospital policies and procedures, protocols, and other guidelines relative to EMD patient care services.
- Participates and implements in the Infection Control and Quality Assurance
- programs mandated by the hospital management
- Clearly and legibly documents patient assessments, documentation treatment and diagnostic orders.
- May help in triaging out non- emergency patients during duty hours in case of resistant patients when ER Residents is not available.
- Work harmoniously with the other hospital staff and maintain professionalism and/or adheres to the hospital code of conduct.
- Reports to the ER Consultants any difficulties and problems encountered in managing ER patients and or any dispute with other colleagues.
- Adheres to the duties and responsibilities delegated by the ER Section Head and/or ER Consultants.
Skills
- Must be emotionally stable and in good physical health.
- Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint Presentations, Outlook and Word.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to speak and write clearly and concisely in both Arabic and English
